The Level 2 charger is compatible with all electric vehicles sold in North America and it features a charging capacity of 7.6 kW which is roughly six times greater than a typical Level 1 charger. This enables electric vehicles to be given up to 25 miles (40.2 km) of range every hour.
Despite being one of the more affordable Level 2 chargers on the market, Electrify America’s charger has a 24 foot (7.3 meter) long charging cable and a NEMA 3R enclosure which enables it to be mounted outdoors. The unit is also flexible as it can be plugged into a 240-volt outlet or hardwired in by an electrician. Other highlights include an LED charging status indicator and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The device can even be ordered online from Amazon and will go a long way to making home charging very affordable.
