Europeans Bought More Electrified Vehicles Than Diesels In September — For The First Time In History

The tide has certainly started to turn in Europe and is very likely a precursor of what will happen elsewhere. Most vehicle markets are interconnected so demand changes in one continent tend to also affect supply in other continents, and you only manufacture what is expected to be consumed. So markets like South Africa which is lagging way behind with EVs will feel it effecting their ability to export ICE vehicles in the future.

As noted though government incentives to encourage the change do have a marked effect on purchase patterns… and is a primary reason why the South African market has not yet woken up to the changes happening.
