MangoHUD – Linux Has This Awesome Gaming Benchmarking HUD Tool You Probably Haven’t Heard Of

MangoHUD is a Vulkan (and OpenGL) overlay that can be activated on any game running through Steam Proton (which deftly translates Microsoft’s DirectX graphics API to Vulkan — which Linux can understand). It can also be invoked in native Linux games using Vulkan, or through software like Lutris.

It’s defined on its GitHub page as a tool for monitoring CPU, GPU and RAM usage, as well as monitoring minimum, maximum and average framerates.

MangoHUD also logs that data to a text file with one click, similar to how FRAPS or MSI Afterburner works. But FlightlessMango has taken things a step further by creating a “User Benchmarks” section on his website, which lets you upload those text files and watch as gorgeous, interactive charts and graphs are created.
