I've created the page at https://gadgeteer.co.za/homeassistant to follow my journey as a newbie in setting up and configuring Home Assistant to work. I've got as far as the basic set up and editing of config files. I'm currently exploring how Groups work (creates changes to the layout view) before I move onto adding more specific devices.
Currently, I have my weather station, Fitbit, Efergy energy monitor, monitoring what phones are at home/away all working.
I've added a new page today that has a useful grouped selection of commands that can be used with a Google Home device (or with Google Assistant app on the phone). It's list I previously shared with my family but may be useful for others too.
See the page at https://gadgeteer.co.za/googlehomecommands.
Home Assistant - an open source home automation system built for a Raspberry Pi
The system is designed to be modular so apart from existing modules more can be continued to be added. A searchable list of components is at https://home-assistant.io/components/ and a nice interactive demo can be tried out at https://home-assistant.io/demo/.
I just added a new page to the site which will deal with home automation devices and projects I'm busy with. It will grow and improve over time as I add more information and upgrade devices.
