The finding the knobs and buttons part is just one part of the flying, the more serious problem was establishing the initial communications for a passenger that knows nothing about the cockpit, and as Captain Joe says, if a plane is flying in US airspace and is not responding for 20 minutes, there may be a jet fighter scrambling to shoot it down… Add to this the stress of actually being in the situation and we can see it is a tall order.
This is of course if you made it through the armoured door in the first place… I suppose that's why they have two pilots in the first place! The video shows an Airbus A320 simulator landing.
