They are all free to install and use, and there are tons of free video tutorials online to learn from. If you really want to learn to program the barrier to entry is really low. You can get away with even using a cheap Raspberry Pi with free WiFi access from a government hotspot or a coffee shop. There are also tutorials and even emulators for an Android phone (nothing else needed apart from connectivity).

I've been busy the last 3 days learning Python (ranked 2nd in this review) and it has been really fun. I used to program professionally about 28 years ago in Clipper and Clarion, and had started migrating to Visual Basic (no decent database management) and also C++ (I really did not enjoy the syntax and was struggling with classes back then).
