Test out alternative Android OS, LineageOS, on a Raspberry Pi

If you ever wondered what LineageOS actually looks like and how it works, you can now try it out easily on a Raspberry Pi. LineageOS comes without Google apps on (or spyware) or any bloatware, and is based on the open source Android OS. LineageOS includes a few very useful and powerful utility apps and gives you greater control over many privacy and other settings. I always found they offered many unique bells and whistles that I never got on an OEM version of Android.

On an actual Android phone there are well documented ways of flashing the Google apps on if you wish, but many go with LineageOS in the first place to have a phone free of Google. Another advantage is that updates generally continue for LineageOS many years after the OEM has stopped releasing updates for the same phones.
