PC gaming destroys PlayStation 4 and Xbox in terms of sales in 2017
Make no mistake gaming is a massive market, but one that many are unaware of if they are not a gamer themselves. There are highly paid professional gamers and tournaments with substantial prize money on the go globally, and supporting that is a big hardware sales market.
Nvidia stated that the total gaming market grew by 36% year-on-year, to a total of almost $6 billion. Nvidia attributed the strong growth of the PC gaming segment to multiple factors, including the fact that it is an “open platform”. The number of games for PC in 2017 far outranked rival platforms, including the PlayStation, by a substantial margin.
