A fleet of all-electric school buses grows to 150 vehicles in California – Another Ideal Scenario for Electric Vehicles

FPGF announced this month that they have deployed 40 all-electric school buses from The Lion Electric Co. over the last 12 months – bringing their fleet to “150 all-electric school buses in the last two years, with more than a million miles driven.”

Their routes are generally relatively short and they are often parked for long periods of time as they are not used as intensively as urban transit buses or coaches, which gives them opportunities to charge. Some companies have understood the benefits and are starting to accelerate the deployment.

The Lion Electric Co.’ eLion electric bus has a range from 90 to 150 km (55 to 94 miles) depending on the configuration.
