First shave with my new Parker Variant Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor in Satin Chrome Finish
The shave is definitely slightly closer than my Merkur 34C razor. I did the first pass on setting 1 (mildest) and that was already quite close. It was quite smooth although I am using Feather blades (very sharp blades but on their second day's use). The head of this razor is a bit heavier than the Merkur 34C so zero pressure is needed at all.
Pass two was on setting 2 (slightly more aggressive) and I must say that feels close enough for me. After the shave I could feel the drag on my skin when I ran my finger over it, indicating a good close shave.
The razor came with a set of Shark Super Chrome blades which I'm keen to try out on Thursday as the Feather blades are probably a bit too sharp in this razor for me. Slightly milder and smoother blades like the Shark will likely make the shave an even better experience with this razor. So far I'm very impressed.
