Two things I like about this video:
1. It shows you the real basics, without fancy frills and stories, of a basic wet shave.
2. It's using an all-in-one starter kit assembled by a wet shaving company and starts at only $39.95 – it's a good way to see if wet shaving works for you (of course it will) and you can replace bits and pieces as you go along.
One important thing that was mentioned in the video – do not press the razor to your face – you want it to glide under its own weight. It usually won't cut you if you press, but it can be too aggressive and cause razor burn. You can always lather again and do a second or a third pass.
The greatest thing for me about wet shaving is all the choices you have – there is just zero lock-in to any supplier or manufacturer. You can choose your razor, soap, brush, bowls, aftershave for different suppliers. This is also what helps keep the prices so low and competitive!
