I have created a separate VPS service to monitor my WordPress site from outside of the main hosting service. The status page can be found at https://uptime.gadgeteer.co.za/status/gadgeteer and also includes some of my other public services.
It is using self-hosted Uptime Kuma which also alerts me to any downtime as soon as it happens. Uptime Kuma has way more built-in features versus the free version of Uptime Robot I was using before.
