For 1955 the Citroen DS packed in the most innovative technology for its time – headlights turn with steering, no need to jack it up to change a wheel

This is an interesting watch and especially realising this car design dates back to 1955 and has features we still don’t see in today’s cars. I had no idea it’s headlights turn with the steering and it can lift its suspension up so high and then raise its wheels so that you don’t need to jack it up. Even its shape was ahead of its time and does not look out of place today.

Watching it drive smoothly through a ploughed field makes one wonder why we don’t see this suspension more used today? It’s true that of all car designs no one single model ever packed so much innovative change at one time into its design.
