I heard about Canva today on a podcast and was interested to see more as Shutterstock can be pretty expensive (even for individuals) and if you’re not doing what you do for a profit, you want to do it free or cheap. So off the bat Canva is free for personal use (not the full content but way enough for anyone to do what they need to) and has 8,000+ free templates, hundreds of thousands of free photos, text, effects and lots more to get something done fairly easily. There is even functionality to help you create an intro video for a YouTube channel.
It looks like premium content is about $1 a piece but there seems to be plenty for free and you can also upload and use your own photos. The Pro subscription for $9.95pm (paid annually or $12.95 paid monthly)unlocks 60,000+ templates and over 4 million photos and graphics. There are better deals for education and non-profit organisations. There are also mobile apps but it has a good desktop browser interface too.
