Seems many do not know YouTube Go will allow downloading and OFFLINE resharing via direct WiFi of videos in communities

Although launched quite a while back in India the YouTube Go app is only about 8MB in size and intended to be used on cheaper Android phones that have Android Go installed.

The power is not in the downloading but rather in the offline sharing capability directly between devices without any Internet required. SO one person could download a video (or a few) at any government hotspot or where there is free WiFi, and go back into a community that has no Internet at all, and then share that video between other phones in the community using WiFi on the phones themselves.

All that is needed on both sides to reshare the videos offline are phones with the YouTube Go app installed and WiFi on the phone… and yes maybe a video showing citizens how to save a video and how to reshare it.

It’s the type of technology that can help spread important visual messages across disconnected communities.
