‘Non-commercial use only’? Oopsie. You can’t get much more commercial than a huge digital billboard over Piccadilly

What I really don’t like about this is firstly someone who profits from a business is ethically bound to pay for what they use to generate their profit, and secondly it sometimes results in the free for non-commercial use being ended for everyone who benefits correctly for non-commercial use. It’s actually just plain selfish on both fronts for such businesses. They should be shamed just like they have shamed themselves in this photo publicly.

As much as I promote free and open source software anyone also has the right to copyright their work if they so wish, and all licenses should be respected whether open or proprietary.
