Blind-Assistance App "Be My Eyes" Is Now on Android

The app is free, anonymous, and available 24/7. Anyone can join as a volunteer or end user (from anywhere in the world). There’s no commitment when joining, so for sighted people, this is a great way to make the world better just a few minutes at a time. Its creator's report over 270 thousand help sessions, with over 500 thousand sighted users helping 38 thousand blind ones.

Be My Eyes is all about contributing and benefiting from small acts of kindness, so hop on board and get involved!

Blind or visually impaired users can request help from a sighted volunteer, who will be notified on their phone. As soon as the first sighted user accepts the request for help, a live audio-video connection will be set up between the two parts. The sighted helper can now assist the blind or visually impaired, through the video connection from the blind or visually impaired user’s rear-facing camera.

Most calls for assistance are answered within 60 seconds, but be sure not to share private or financial information.
