Facebook shuts down Friend List Feeds – will have Facebook's News Feed instead
Facebook will remove its Friend List Feeds in an effort to improve its News Feed platform, TechCrunch reported. This feature allowed users to view content which only included what their friends were posting, hiding posts from Facebook pages and unfollowed friends.
A message posted to the Facebook app stated that Friend List Feeds would no longer be available from 9 August 2018. Facebook told TechCrunch that users can still customise their News Feed using the various options available in the Preferences menu.
Well, there you have it… while other services are offering users greater control of what they see or don't want to see, Facebook knows their news feed is better for you than news from your friends. Luckily their name is not Friendster or Friendbook as then they'd have to have rebranded. If I want to follow just one friend and nobody/nothing else, I should be able to.
