My new Hyundai Grand i10 Fluid does have a multifunction display unit with Android Auto but its unit does not display the car gauges (just shows digital read outs under speedometer). Sad thing is Google apparently banned any 3rd party apps with ‘animation’ from working with Android Auto (why if cars already have gauges?).
So the first set was to get the OBD2 for AA app which works with AA and Torque Pro, and follow the instructions to get it operational on my rooted phone.
Once done I now have the ODB2AA app appearing on Android Auto and tapping it will show up to 6 ODB2 gauges on the car’s head unit. A pity that the app does not show the more detailed bar graphs and other visual displays in Torque Pro but it’s a useful hack to at least keep an eye on some essential stats without needing to watch my phone. It can however access all the advanced ODB2 stats.
