I used Nova launcher for many years as the launcher on my Android phones as it offered some of the best additional features and customisation over default launchers from Google, Samsung, Huawei, and others.
Installing a second (or third) launcher does not affect your original launcher at all, and you can switch between them very easily. You may just be pleasantly surprised with Nova launcher, and it will give your launcher pages a whole new look and feel.
