An interesting article covering the more interesting uses of ham radio’s JS8CALL digital mode. What I like about this digital mode is the easy ability to reach contacts 10,000+ km away at low power modes like 25 Watts. It is basically using a computer (even a Raspberry Pi) to encode the information to digital and transmitting that over analogue radio, to be decoded on the other side… and it just works.
