At 7m this antenna was a bit longer than I was expecting… The mast is pretty stable but the antenna does flex a bit so hopefully the guy ropes are adequate to hold it in our South-Easter winds which usually hit 35 – 45 km/h.
The SWR readings are pretty OK (radio will auto-tune for SWR 3.0 and below) and currently better than my 40m dipole antenna. The readings are pretty good across all bands and it now remains to be seen how the vertical polarisation works as many other antennas are horizontal or inverted V’s.
SWR readings in mid-bands are currently:
6m = 1:1.85
8m = 1:1.80
10m = 1:2.5
12m = 1:2.1
15m = 1:1.90
17m = 1:1.5
20m = 1:2.0
30m = 1:2.25
40m = 1:1.7
80m = 1:2.2
