Nissan's future cars could read your brainwaves
Japanese automobile manufacturer, Nissan, has just unveiled a new technology that interprets the drivers' brain signals to tell which actions they intend to take next. The system, called "Brain-to-Vehicle" technology, can then transmit this information to the car's driver assist functions so that they initiate the desired manoeuvre hundreds of milliseconds before the driver can actually react. Nissan will demonstrate the system using a driving simulator at CES 2018 in Las Vegas.
Manufacturers are not resting on the laurels of self-driving cars (even though that is not perfected yet). They are already pushing the next boundary by tapping into your thoughts to anticipate actions that you have not yet had time to execute. Nissan is not the only manufacturer busy with this either.
