Unplanned Grid Load Shedding Just Started Around South Africa due to the Eskom Strikes
Grid Power just went off in our area in Cape Town and thank goodness my solar power investment finally paid off! We're the only house in the area with lights and Internet on! It's the first grid outage we've had since we installed the solar system a few yeqars back.
As peak demand wanes it is expected the still operating power stations will be able to handle everything after 20:00 and the power should hopefully be on everywhere again.
Pictured below is my solar system powering the house off battery and inverter power. The load is fairly light as we are only running the lights, TV, computers, Internet and pond pump.
