Made by Detroit-based Redcliffe Medical, Leaf is a transparent mask with N99+ HEPA-carbon filtration. This filtration helps to block nearly 100% of 0.3 micron particles. It appears to be 5 layers of material in the filter. A small built-in UV-C light enables the mask to self-purify (and possibly give you a radiant blue face at night?). The transparent mask also allows users to unlock their phones with Face ID.
The FDA-approved mask also has an anti-fogging feature, preventing your mask from getting hazy when you breathe or talk. Leaf is made from medical-grade silicon, comes in different sizes and colours, and is available for US$49.
Well mask innovation was bound to happen but these will "stand out" so let’s hope it does not follow the trend of smartphones where some people get mugged to have their mask stolen…
