Back in the day the ZX81 was my first real computer that I learnt BASIC programming on, because as it had no long term storage I had to type out every game’s code before I could play anything (sometimes the power cable was loose and I’d lose it all and have to type it over before I could play). Some code was in hex which was even more difficult to type correctly. But back then this was really exciting stuff!
