Viofo A119 Loses its Settings and the Capacitor does not help

Something I learnt after having this dashcam for one year and 6 months is that the capacitor (instead of it having the normal battery) has absolutely not helped at all. The dashcam loses all its settings as soon as I turn the car off.Worse, it defaults to having the GPS disabled, so every time I switch the car on I must change the settings for the GPS to be on.

There is some real-time clock battery on the board that has gone and I find no easy way to replace it. So going for a capacitor-based model may have just been a waste of time in this case. I'll rather now look for a model with a built-in GPS and a more easily replaceable battery.
