Vodacom (and likely all other South African ISPs) keeps track of all the websites you visit – Updated privacy policy

This has happened with text messages since the beginning so no surprises at all but probably worth noting the following specifics will be recorded:
– The phone numbers you call or send messages to, and the phone numbers you receive calls and messages from.
– The date, time, and length of the calls and messages you send or receive
– Your website browsing information, which includes information about the websites you visit.
– The date, time, and length of your Internet browsing, and your approximate location at the time of browsing.

There is a PAIA notice as well, as required, but I can only imagine the process to follow through on that… I'd be extremely surprised if any of the other ISPs are not doing exactly the same. I know the WASP licensing requires that text message information to be kept for a long while already.
