I’m now a Brave Certified Creator for easy auto-contributions at no cost to Brave browser users

I blog for the enjoyment of it about technology, gadgets, etc and spend quite a few hours every day curating items of interest and sometimes producing a few videos. I have always (and will continue to) made a point to never accept advertising for my channels nor sell data to 3rd parties, and I fully fund the hosting out of my own pocket every month. Any income for my photos for profit making businesses goes directly to charities.

What I do like about Brave browser though is that it offers not only privacy for its users, but it earns a little revenue for them monthly from watching limited adverts. That income can be auto-contributed in turn to Brave approved creators based on where a user spends their time (or they can choose not to auto-contribute and cash their money out).
It’s a great model for painlessly supporting subscription or advert free news sites and creators. A sort of win-win. It’s never going to cover my hosting and other costs but it’s a fun project to try out.

The privacy-focused Brave browser is previewing the new advertising model, which will let users earn a digital token for viewing online ads. However, the goal isn’t to help users make quick cash, but to forward the funds to their favorite websites.
