I have FlowCrypt extension installed on GMail and Enigmail on Thunderbird, both of which allow digital signing and encryption on the message as well as the subject line.
I composed a fully encrypted message on Thunderbird and it opened seamlessly on Proton Mail which goes to show if an open standard encryption such as OpenPGP can be activated on a mail client, it is possible to send fully encrypted mail back and forth between different mailing systems.
I’d like to test Tutanota still but firstly they have been under DDOS attack which means I can’t register, and I understand they are using a hybrid encryption which is not something I’m in favour of – open standards is the way to go for interoperability.
