One can do a safety razor shave in about the same time it takes to use a cartridge razor with a can of goo, but many do enjoy taking a little longer with a better quality traditional shave. The little longer is what separates the traditional shaving from its disposable counterpart, and the better quality products do work better given a bit of preparation and time.
The separation is really not that much extra as the traditional shave is like muscle memory, once you have the habit right, it all just happens.
