Have you also ditched your SLR for your smartphone camera when travelling?

I had a Pixel 2 XL (replaced now with a iPhone 12 Pro) and both take excellent photos with all the HDR, colour correction, geolocation, etc needed. My last overseas holiday, a few years ago, did still include my Sony travel zoom camera, which I used about 50% of the time. No-one wants to have to keep pausing to change SLR lenses or wait for GPS locks, etc.

So I’m also feeling my next holiday will be my smartphone alone for photos. It is true though, that the one feature really lacking for smartphones is a good optical zoom capability (at least to 5x or 10x), as well as a good wide angle lens (although I’ll venture to say the wide angle lens is now actually pretty good that I have on the iPhone 12 Pro). So I’ll probably test out buying a good glass pop-on zoom lens for my smartphone, as a backup.

My Sony DSLR setup consists of an entire rucksack of accessory lenses, flashes, batteries, charger, and so on.
