Yes I know most new PCs and laptops come with SSD drives, but if you’re building a computer at home, or want 3TB or bigger drives for RAID and other storage uses, then SSD is not quite there in terms of price.
This just reminds me a bit of that trusted platform module debacle where Windows 11 won’t install on many two year old computers, although it has been shown that it can technically install just fine.
You can sort of see why hardware manufacturers just love Microsoft, because it helps them move hardware sales where end users still have perfectly good hardware to work with. It’s no wonder why so many users just hold off getting new version of Windows, because Windows 7 can still work pretty well for most purposes. In the early days you either bought your computer with an OEM version of Windows preinstalled (paid for as part of the purchase) or otherwise you paid very dearly to buy a copy of Windows OS separately.
So you have choices at least: Stay on Windows 10 or move to another OS where you may have a lot more freedom, or you can take the Blue Pill and live in peace…
