I’ve spent a few days watching the numerous videos available on the training that pilots get drilled on for preparing a plane for take-off but also for emergencies from take-off and during flights. It really makes one appreciate that there is a checklist and preparation for all eventualities. Even the take-off, as short and quick as it is, is broken up into defined stages with prepared actions that both the pilot and first-officer are fully prepared for. It also goes to show how incredibly technical today’s planes are.
What is unique about this SAA video is that it is not purely from the pilot’s point of view (like most pilot’s YouTube videos are) but includes the crew and even a simulated air control view. All team members play vital roles.
