Recently, my ceramic Crown King shaving scuttle fell in the basin, and has a few hairline cracks on its outer shell which are leaking water now. After doing some searching, I came upon this shatterproof scuttle from Phoenix Shaving, as well as the Crown King Shatterproof Travel Scuttle.
Both are made out of a type of Polypropylene plastic that does not break, shatter, or crack, even when thrown out of a moving vehicle onto a tar road. The point being, there are unbreakable travel scuttles. Given the price of these scuttles, and the fact I can’t easily obtain them in South Africa, I’m seriously thinking of going the unbreakable route. They don’t look as nice as the ceramic versions, but they work much the same, and are going to last.
